Producing a mathematical model that accurately mirrors the performance of a physical catapult and displays the required information through a GUI. A strong technical background and rigorous approach enabled me to produce a complex mathematical function that increased the final correlation of the spreadsheet to the real catapult. I had to develop my analytical and problem solving skills to undertake the complex negotiation around calibrating the mathematical model of the physical catapult, as there were many factors affecting its performance that had to be considered. I learnt to use advanced Excel functions, including the Goal Seek Function as well as coding some Visual Basic to automate the process further.
