HAWK — Legal Process Automation

Professional Project · Bentley Motors · 2024–2026

HAWK is an in-house web platform I designed and built at Bentley Motors to replace the manual VCR (Version Change Request) process used across R&D — the legal sign-off for every piece of software released onto a Bentley vehicle. Over 19 months I led the project end-to-end: stakeholder research, board approval, full-stack engineering (Next.js · Spring Boot · MSSQL bridging the Volkswagen Group's legacy Java 8 SOAP services), third-party security review, and live deployment. HAWK went live on 22 May 2026 and is now used by 200+ engineers across R&D, cutting the average VCR from 50.9 hours to a projected 21.8 hours and forecast to save £11.5m over six years.
