Parking Barrier Redesign

Redesigning an articulating parking barrier for Parking Facilities Limited (PFL), the UK's largest parking barrier manufacturer. The project addressed poor customer response to PFL's existing barrier by developing an innovative design utilising an internal mechanism to create a sleek aesthetic, whilst maintaining short lead times. Through detailed calculations, FEA simulations, and physical prototyping, a new design was successfully justified and proposed. The project developed skills in concept synthesis, CAD modelling, finite element analysis, rapid prototyping, and design for manufacture and assembly.
